“To be a centre of excellence where knowledge is imparted and disseminated, empowering learners to grow, share, and contribute meaningfully to society.” – Based on our Motto “Let Knowledge Grow”
“To inspire students to learn with purpose and leave with the knowledge, values and commitment to serve their community and the world.”
This mission is inspired by the favourite saying of the Founder “Enter to learn and leave to serve”
Where curiosity sparks learning, talents shine, and every journey begins with purpose.
As we mark the 75th anniversary of our schools, I am filled with deep reflection and gratitude. What began in 1951 as a vision to make education accessible to those who could not otherwise afford it has grown into a community that has shaped the lives of thousands of students across our island.
My late husband, our founder, devoted his life not only to building schools but to creating opportunities for generations of students. Following his passing in 1983, I embraced the responsibility of continuing his vision with a deep sense of purpose and commitment. For four decades, I have had the privilege of serving alongside devoted educators, staff, and administrators who share a common belief in the transformative power of education.
Together, we have witnessed generations of students walk through our doors with hope and leave with purpose. Many have gone on to contribute meaningfully to society, and it is in their achievements that we find our greatest reward.
This milestone is not only a celebration of the past, but a reminder of the responsibility we carry into the future. The world continues to change, but our founding principle remains the same: to provide quality education with integrity, inclusiveness, and compassion.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all those who have been part of this journey, our teachers, staff, students, parents, and well wishers. Your commitment has sustained and strengthened these institutions over the years.
It is my sincere hope that these colleges will continue to uphold the values on which they were founded, and remain places where discipline, dedication, and opportunity come together to shape responsible and capable individuals for generations to come.
This milestone is not only a celebration of its rich history and achievements, but also a reaffirmation of the enduring vision, values, and legacy that will continue to guide the Eden Colleges journey into the future.
I would also like to express my deepest and most sincere appreciation to the team behind this 75th anniversary initiative, led by Mr. Ramsahye, for their vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in bringing this commemorative magazine and website to life. Their unwavering commitment, diligence, and genuine devotion to the institution are truly commendable, and their meaningful work stands as a testament to the care and excellence they bring to all that they undertake.
Happy 75th Anniversary to Eden Colleges.
Seventy-five years ago, in 1951, a group of students gathered in a small classroom in Rosehill marking the birth of our school. What began as a modest gesture then was part of a much greater vision of our founder, Eden Balgobin, whose name still embodies and inspires the spirit of our school.Rector
